James Ronald ( Ronnie ) Childress

James Ronald ''Ronnie'' Childress, 80, of Celeste, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2026, at the Hunt Regional Medical Center. A graveside service is planned for Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Celeste Cemetery with Dr. James Ralson officiating. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. until service time at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born September 22, 1945, in Celeste, Texas, to Charles J. and Margie Fugitt Childress. Ronnie worked for L3 Communications in trucking and retired after 43 years of service.

Ronnie is survived by son, Terry Childress; daughter, Amy Childress; brother, Harry Childress and wife, Kay; sister, Charlsey Tidwell; grandchildren, Dalton Childress, Dillan Krodle and wife, Karissa; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Finn, Kayson and Korie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Dillan Krodle, Dalton Childress, Jackson Abbott, Reid Tarrant, Tyler LaFavers and Jax McLarry.
