Barbara was born on March 18, 1937 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Onus Johnson and Georgie Huckaby. She married Milton Carpenter on July 2, 1955. She owned ABC's House of Flowers and later worked part-time at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Floyd Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Russell Carpenter and wife, Rhonda, and Terry Carpenter and wife, Marilyn; daughter, Dana Russell; grandchildren, Kathy Mays, Wes Richardson, Jeff Richardson, Mandi Blythe, Sara Carpenter, and Corey Russell; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two grandchildren, Kellie Blair and Clint Carpenter; great-grandson, Colin Blair; and son-in-law, Andrew Russell.
Pallbearers will be Claude Thomas, Daren Carpenter, Wes Richardson, Jeff Richardson, Wittly Carpenter, and Shane Krodle. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Russell, Bailey Singleton, and Charlie Blythe.
