Dagmar Nancy Bellatrix O'Neal, 74, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at LifeCare Hospital in Carrollton, Texas, following an extended illness.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.

Nancy was born on September 1, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Dettmer Heinreck Otto and Ingerberg Cerda Olinski. She later made Texas her home and built a life marked by dedication to her work, service to her community, and a passion for animals and horses.

On April 21, 2008, she married James O'Neal, with whom she shared many happy years until his passing in 2012.

Nancy enjoyed a successful career in tax accounting, working for Texas Instruments, Halliburton, and Ernst & Young until her retirement in 2020. She was also deeply involved in local government, serving the City of Glen Heights as both a City Council member and Mayor Pro Tem.

Outside of her professional life, Nancy was well known in the Arabian horse community, where she combined her love of horses with her exceptional organizational skills, serving as a show manager for several major horse shows. She was a devoted animal lover throughout her life and had a special affection for her beloved French Bulldog, Dolly.

Retirement gave Nancy more time to enjoy the things she loved most. She was an enthusiastic and competitive player of Mexican Train and Rummikub, rarely missing an opportunity for a game with friends. She was known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor.

Nancy is survived by her stepdaughters, Brandi Showalter and husband Steven Showalter of Houston, Texas, and Leslie Tabor Simecka and husband Jerry Simecka of Little Rock, Arkansas; and by her grandson, Zachary Tabor and wife Lexi Tabor of Denton, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James O'Neal.

Nancy will be remembered for her independence, determination, sense of humor, love of animals, and the many friendships she formed throughout her life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
