Joe was born in Toccoa, Georgia, on February 3, 1941, to Van Quincy Goss and Mattie Shealy Goss. He married Linda Alice Kind on April 12, 1969, in Columbia, South Carolina. They had two children. Joe worked as an Electrical Engineer for L3 Harris Technologies for 24 years, retiring in 2009.
He is survived by his son, Jody Goss and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Tiffany Goss; six grandchildren, Rylee Goss, Addison Goss, Jagger Goss, Tyler Nieto, Abbie Nieto, and Chris Nieto; brothers, Warren Goss (Mae) of Windsor, NC; Dean Goss (Susie) of Greenwood SC; as well as 11 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kind Goss; his parents, Van Quincy Goss and Mattie Shealy Goss of Leesville, SC; sister, Sylvia Stamm (Gene) of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, A. Byron Goss (Judy) of Leesville, SC and P. Wendell Goss (Wanda) of Chesterfield, MO.
Pallbearers will include Jagger Goss, Tyler Nieto, Chris Nieto, John Nowell, Jake Nowell, and Khol Williamson.
