Jackie Joe Hooten, 79, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Greenville, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 21, 2026 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Interment will be in Lynch Cemetery in East Tawakoni. Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jackie was born on November 25, 1946 in Greenville, Texas to Forest Hooten and Zella Louise Pritchett Hooten. He worked as a carpenter and a chef. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Greenville.

He is survived by his sons, Dwaine Hooten and wife, Yvette, and Jeremy Hooten; sisters, Helen Shaw, Shirley Stogner and Deborah Davis; grandchildren, Storm, Stone, Hunter and Jared Hooten; great-grandchildren, Mia, Noe, Jacklyn, Jayden and August Hooten.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Hooten, his parents, and brothers, Allen Hooten, Sr. and Johnny Hooten.

Pallbearers will be Allen Hooten, Chris Hooten, Toby Hooten, Hunter Hooten, Jared Hooten, Storm Hooten, Jimmy Shaw and Danny Shaw.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stone Hooten, Jayden Stogner, Walker Stogner, Dylan Davis, Diallo Stogner and Sweeney.
