Joe S. Sisk
March 29, 1923 - March 6, 2014

      

Joe S. Sisk, 90, of Greenville passed away March 6, 2014 at Legend Health Care.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Sherwin and Rev. Bob Layman officiating.  Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Born March 29, 1923 in Emory, Joe was the son of John Ormand Sisk and Cora (Cooper) Sisk.  On October 5, 1946, in Ft. Worth, he married Lucille Whirley.  Joe retired from the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a retired clerk from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste.

His survivors include his wife, Lucille of Greenville; son Michael Sisk and wife Donna of Greenville; daughter Carol Wheeler of Ft. Worth; brother Pat Sisk of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Robin Shay Poznich, Jennifer Ann Sisk, Mark Scott Wheeler, and Ty Austin Wheeler; and two great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ronnie Sisk, and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Gatlin Sisk, Keith Sisk, Craig Sisk, John Poznich, Christopher Poznich and Ryan Poznich.  Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Armstrong, Clifford Clark, Gene Martin, Stewart Ward, Jerald Monk, and Charles Glasscock.
