E. Dwight Pennington

E. Dwight Pennington, 75, of Greenville passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2010.
He was born in Caddo Mills, April 7, 1935, to Lester and Eva Mae Pennington. He graduated from High School in Sinton, Texas. He then joined the Air Force as an Avionics Instructor in Amarillo, Texas. He attended Texas Tech University and East Texas State University.
He became a railroad engineer with Cotton Belt Railroad, retiring after 30 years of service and was an active member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Dwight enjoyed going to Las Vegas and to Shreveport where you could always find him at the crap tables. He was also an avid fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed all other sports too.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary K. Pennington; son, Michael Pennington of Azle, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bob Osuna of Sachse, TX; grandchildren, Taylor Haguewood, Nicholas Osuna of Sachse, TX, Brandon Phipps of Texas and Brandi Phipps of Oklahoma; also brother-in-law Lary Herrin and his wife, Beth of McKinney, TX along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in his death were his parents, Lester and Eva Mae Pennington, brother Billy Ray Pennington, and his dear friend and mother-in-law Grace Herrin.
Pallbearers will be Tony Pennington, Larry Pennington, Brandon Boney, Kenneth Ballard, Robert Wood and Joe Biland. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers will serve as Honorary pallbearers.
He was a quiet, gentle, kind husband and father and will greatly missed. A special thanks to Tom Walton, Gary Crow, and Desiree and Sandy of Vista Home Care.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Speight officiating.
