Inez A. McKay, 96, of Greenville, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Greenville Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 3:30 PM, Tuesday, February 12, 2008, in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Wayne McKay and Rev. Randy Rather officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. McKay was born in Hunt County, Texas on February 4, 1912, the daughter of William Thomas O'Hara and Mary Elizabeth Ramsey O'Hara. On July 30, 1931, in Emory, she married Luther L. McKay. She was a nurse and a member of the First Church of The Nazarene.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Evans and her husband C. B. of Greenville; sisters, Martha Darnell of Roanoke, Barbara Rockwell of Poolville, Frances Gillespie of Vandalia, Ohio and Margaret Jones of Garland; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law John Paul and Sadie McKay of Somerdale, NJ and Tommie O'Hara of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mary Lynn Harris; brother, Herman O'Hara; sisters, Bertha Sprinkle, Willie Howell, Bessie O'Hara and Mildred Swafford.
Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2008, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
