"I am greatly saddened to learn of Pat's passing. He was a great Spider M buddy and will be missed. My condolences go out to the family. My prayers are that they take encouragement knowing that he is now with our Savior, Jesus, in Heaven."

"The year was 1965, in a Protestant town
Two Catholic boys of 10 meeting on the playground
A love of music, sharing closest thoughts
At Bowie Elementary, my closest friend was found

Soul-mates in life, tent-mates in Scouting; learning to be men
Competitors, yet comrades, time and again
The first called, in town or away
Sharing family meals, sleepover TV in the den

Jeopardy had teaching value, exploration of the mind
I was adrift, but through you exposed to the refined
You and your family shaped a boy on his own
New Yorker, Proceedings, a new world defined

Riding together, hanging together in your Harvest Gold MG
Some of the best times of our lives, just you and me
Playing in bands, trying to be stars
Dropping in, singing out, we were harmony

During the age of Vietnam, we were the volunteers,
How did we drift apart, my friend through the years?
Like Harry Chapin, reality interfered with our dreams
But we remained patriots, defining lives, families and careers

Though we lost close contact, in my thoughts you were always around
I always thought there would be time for our friendship to be re-found
This sudden loss, this tragic loss, this irreplaceable loss
A part of me has died; it joins you in the ground

Rest in peace my friend.

"May Patrick be in Jesus' Light, sharing forever in His victory over death and all evils. May the Lord also grant consolation and inner peace to all who mourn his sudden departure from this life; wiping away all tears; and transforming all sorrow into joy.
We wait in blessed hope for the Coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Who never disappoints but is always faithful."
