Gary Eugene Reed, 63, of Caddo Mills passed away July 29, 2013 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Caddo Mills United Methodist Church with Rev. Debbie Lyons officiating. Interment will be at Dallas/Ft.Worth National Cemetery at 11:30 Monday.
Born September 11, 1949 in Lexington, Nebraska, Gary was the son of C. Forrest and Ruth (Wickenkamp) Reed. On July 12, 1990, in Long Beach, Calif., he married Sherry Anne Barefield. He was a combat veteran of the United States Army serving in Viet Nam and the First Gulf War. He was a retired commercial pilot and retired Corporate Chief Pilot. He was a member of the Caddo Mills United Methodist Church as well as the VFW, American Legion, National Infantry Association, and APA.
His survivors include his wife of Caddo Mills; niece Kellye R. Lints of Florida; great-niece Sara R. Lints of Florida; great-aunt Lavilla Brand and family of Nebraska; uncle Paul Wickenkamp and family of Colorado; and nephew John Post and family of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry C. Reed; and sister Carmen Post.
