Bob Layman and Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating.  Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

John graduated from Quitman High School and then joined the Army during the Korean War, serving his time based in Germany.

John and Billie Phillips were married on March 5, 1960 and enjoyed a happy life of nearly 54 years together.  The marriage produced a son and daughter, David and Donna, of whom he was most proud, and he loved being PaPa to granddaughters Lauren, Kristin and Jordan.

John accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was nine years old and was a member of the Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville and the most caring Sunday School class ever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Beverly and Alma Monteen Crofford, and his brother William Arnold Crofford.
