Faye Brooks, 100, of Greenville passed away February 26, 2014 at Legend Healthcare. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Park Street Baptist Church with Dr. Marvin Mosley officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
Born July 21, 1913 in Hunt County, Faye was the daughter of John Robert and Edna (Husbands) Bowen. In 1940, in Greenville, she married Raymond C. Brooks. She worked as secretary at Park Street Baptist Church for 34 years. She was a longtime member of Park Street Baptist Church where she was also active in the WMU and served in many capacities over the years.
She is survived by her sons George Brooks of Greenville and Bobby Brooks and wife, Linda of Greenville; daughter Luanne Goen and husband, Carl of Clear Lake City; grandchildren Howard Brooks and wife Kathy, Allen Goen and wife Patti, Larry Goen and wife Jennifer, Amy Robles and husband George, and Aaron Brooks and wife Michelle; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Bonnie Brooks and sister Floy Fry.
Pallbearers will be Howard Brooks, Allen Goen, Conner Goen, Austin Goen, Larry Goen, Grant Goen, Aaron Brooks, Garrett Brooks, and Rance Robles. Honorary pallbearers will be Brooks Robles and Bob and Martha Parsons.
