Margaret Ruth Jones, 89, of Mesquite (formerly of Greenville) passed away February 26, 2014 at Plano Specialty Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ricky Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Born April 7, 1924 in Hunt County, Margaret was the daughter of William Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Ramsey) O’Hara. On June 16, 1940, in Greenville, she married Basil Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ faith.
Her survivors include sons Jerry Jones of Rockwall and Ron Jones of Garland; sisters Martha Darnell of Roanake, Barbara Rockwell of Poolville, and Frances Gillespie of Vandalia, Ohio; grandchildren Page Schrock, Brandon Moore, Scotty Jones, Patty Hubbard, Kimberly Yosten, Chad Jones, Heather Tarvis, Ronnie Jones, Kammi Jones, and Corey Jones; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Jan Moore; sisters Bertha Sprinkle, Willie Howell, Bessie O’Hara, Mildred Swafford and Inez A. McKay; and brother Herman O’Hara.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Chad Jones, Ronnie Jones, Corey Jones, Terry Yosten, Scott Jones, and Lance Moore will be an honorary pallbearer.
