Billie Jo "Granny" Maxwell, 80, of Greenville, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Greencrest Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 10:00 AM in Coker-Mathews Chapel will Rev. Bill Shaddox and Rev. Joel Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Maxwell was born in Commerce, Texas, on April 20, 1927. She was the daughter of Hubert and Bessie Maybell Branch Davis. On July 20, 1946, she married Lute Maxwell in Hunt County. She was a member of Salem-Kinser United Methodist Church and a retired photographer at E-Systems.
She is survived by her husband, Lute Maxwell of Greenville; son, Ronny Maxwell and wife Darla of Greenville; daughter, Vickie Bowen and husband Mike of Wolfe City; grandsons, Jeremy Coffman and wife Lisa of Greenville and Chris Bowen and wife Jennifer; granddaughters, Haley Bergman, Carley Griffith, Jennifer Moody and husband Joel; great-grandchildren, Kelsee and Brice Coffman, Kaden and Morgan Bowen and Garrett Moody; and a sister, Mozelle Bailey of Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Tom Thornton, Jeff Kesley, David Moore, Larry Isham, Ricky Houser, Kenneth Edwards, Jerry Sadler and Walter Shank. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Kesley and Don Kesler.
The family requests memorials be made to the ALS Association or Greencrest Manor Nursing Home.
