Kate Phillips

Kate Phillips passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville.  She was a very independent person and had lived alone until the latter part of 2013.  Briarcliff helped her celebrate her 102^nd birthday in March by giving her a birthday party.

She came from a family of eight brothers and four sisters, raised on the family farm between Granbury and Tolar.  After she and Bill were married, they made various moves, eventually from Granbury to Waco.  After his death, she moved to Dallas to be near her family and has been in the Celeste area for 28 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on June 1, 1964.  They were together for 33 years and after 50 years apart, they are finally together again.

Kate is survived by her daughters, Billie Crofford of Celeste and Bobbie Holbrook of Dallas; grandson David Crofford and wife Donna June of Scottsdale, Arizona; granddaughter Donna Lynn Crofford of Allen; great-granddaughters, Lauren, Kristin and Jordan.  She loved her family and was dearly loved.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Granbury Cemetery in Granbury, Texas, with Rev. Bob Layman officiating.  Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
