Joyce Lynn Thompson, 82 of Greenville, passed away on October 9, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Litchfield and Dr. Chet Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joyce was born August 27, 1932 in Sulphur Bluff, Texas to Wylie Eldon and Alline Kimbell Simpson. She married Harold Thompson in Emory, Texas on December 18, 1976. She was retired from Raytheon and a member of the Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Harold Thompson; sons, Charles David Click, Keith Thompson and wife, Pilar; daughters, Connie Holder and husband, Mike, Leah Garrett and husband Kelly; sister, Brenda Oates; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Eldon Click; sister, Mary Jo Brown; and brother, Jerry Simpson.
Pallbearers will be Casey Click, Chance Davis, Chaz Garrett, Kyle Thompson, Lance Thompson, Peter Pegg. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Dennis, B. C. Lennon, and C. F. Vittetoe.
