Blanche McClure Owings, 90, of Rockwall died the morning of March 19, 2008 at Lake Pointe Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 4 PM Saturday, March 22nd in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, Greenville, with Dr. James Ralson officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
Daughter of Arch Lee and Esther Norine Lacky Kennedy, she was born April 12, 1917 in Greenville. On May 19, 1945, she was married to Woodrow McClure in Greenville; he preceded her in death on October 10, 1986. Mrs. Owings was a nurse's aide. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Rickey McClure of Garland and Linnis McClure and wife Sandy of Rockwall;
a daughter, Debra McClure of Greenville; half brother Ray Leggett of Amarillo; grandchildren Della Purjerson of New Mexico; Krystal McClure of Arkansas and Tina Fisher of Hemstead; and two great-grandchildren, Austyn and Brady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow McClure; her parents; a sister, Ruby Day; two brothers, Harvie Kennedy and Harmon Kennedy and a half sister, Freddie Kennedy.
Pallearers will be Douglas Dowdy, Danny McClure, James Waldroup, Ron Waldroup, Steve Combs and Billy Lynch.
