Billy Gene Thompson, 81, of Plano, passed away on March 20, 2015 at the Medical Center of Plano. A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Cemetery on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. with services under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home before the service.
Billy Gene proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1955.
He attended East Texas State University where he received his degree in business. He was employed by various insurance companies until he retired in 1994.
Billy Gene is survived by his wife, Marilyn DeBerry Thompson; mother, Inez Perry-Gray; son, Danny Thompson and wife Donna; daughter, Martha Thompson, grandchildren, Jennifer Anne Thompson, Amanda Gene Thompson; and great-granddaughter, Shaila Thompson.
Billy Gene and Marilyn Thompson were both born in Greenville, Texas and have been happily married 44 years. Billy Gene’s mother, Inez is 101 years old and currently resides in Greenville.
Billy will be sincerely Loved and Missed by all his family and friends.
