S. A. Dillon, 83, of Celeste, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2015 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Seigler officiating. Interment will be in Celeste Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dillon was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on November 17, 1931. He was the son of Odie Dillon and Mattie Virginia Bradford Dillon. On March 9, 1996, he married Billie Pippin in Greenville. He was a retired truck driver and formerly ran Southside Texaco gas station in Celeste. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his sons, Darrell Dillon and wife, Toni of Campbell and Shelby Dillon of Pipe Creek, Texas; daughters, Linda Chense and husband, Alton of Celeste, Sandra Sheets and husband, Weldon of Celeste, Diana Pickering and husband, Paul of Waco and LaDeana Anderson and husband, Henry of Farmersville, Louisiana; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
