Sam Harris, 95 of Greenville, our loving husband and father, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Colonial Tender Care of Greenville. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, May 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rockford Cemetery in Lamar County with Father Paul Weinberger officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sam was born in Lamar County, Texas on February 20, 1920 to Henry Cluff Harris and Myrtle Pickering. He married Leila Bell Iguess on July 27, 1957 in Beaumont, Texas. Sam was retired from the United States Air Force where he served as Tech Sgt. for Logistics and Employment Management.
Sam is survived by his wife Leila Harris of Greenville; Daughters, Diane Smith of Irving, Carolyn Clark of Garland; sister, Jo Bollinger of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Colby Steven Smith of Greenville and Lacey LeeAnn Smith of San Antonio; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Sam is preceded in death by his son, David Michael Harris.
