Hazel Tapp
Hazel Marie Tapp, 91, of Greenville, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015. Visitation will be at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville on Tuesday, May 26 from 5:00-7:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville on Wednesday, May 27 at 10:00am under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Chaplain Terri Wilson will officiate.
Hazel was born March 19, 1924 in Mount Zion Community to Luther Brothers and Grace Wright Brothers. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1941. After retirement from TG&Y, Hazel provided childcare for local churches, including over 25 years with Crestview Christian Church. She also served as a caregiver for several years in the Greenville area. Hazel was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Grace. She is survived by two daughters, Ellan Tapp and Gayle Norwood of Greenville; a son, Rick Tapp and daughter-in-law Kay of Fort Collins, CO; two grandsons, Thomas Tapp and Jonathan Tapp of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Dan Brothers of Campbell; and a niece, Pam Hayes of Campbell.
