Mary Elizabeth Williams, 84, of Greenville died early in the morning on April 2, 2008, at Greencrest Manor. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday at North Baptist Church, Greenville. Rev. Ryan Abernathy and Rev. Michael Smalley will officiate. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Born april 23, 1923 in Hunt County, she was the daughter of Fred and Efie Ola Stipes Leggett. On September 28, 1943, she was married to Morell Williams. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of North Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of Greenville; two sons, Robert Tidwell of Rhodes, Greece and James Williams of Waco; two daughters, Joyce Abernathy of Rowlett and Freida Williams; brothers Pete Leggett of Greenville and Albert Leggett of Abilene; a sister Faye Smith of Garland; 10 grandchildren, Ann Marie and Wayne Tidwell of California, Lisa Tiffany of Garland and Darin Aldridge of Rowlett, Ryan Abernathy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mandi Barnett of Caddo Mills, Calvin, Ashley and Britany Williams of Waco and Marc Williams of Houston; six great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Jacob Barnett of Caddo Mills, Annalise and Amelia Kate Abernathy, and Ella Claire Abernathy (due in August) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,and Haleigh Aldridge of Rowlett; and numberous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Rayford Leggett, Clyde Leggett, Arvil Leggett, and Burrell Thompson; and three sisters, Effie Lou Leggett, Robbie Watson, and Rosa Hataway. Pallbearers will be Ryan Abernathy, Darin Aldridge, David Baldridge, Calvin Williams, Michael Smalley, and Charlie Phillips.
