James Raymond Diggs
James Raymond Diggs, 89, of Greenville died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Legend Healthcare. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 24, 2015 at Highland Terrace Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Royce Litchfield will officiate. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Diggs was born in Commerce, Texas on June 28, 1926. He was the son of James Spencer Diggs and Sarah Jewel Parish Diggs. He married Edith Merle Hunt on September 15, 1946 in Galveston. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was bi-vocational serving as a Pastor and also as shipping manager for Henson-Kickernick and Liquid Paper. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Merle Diggs of Greenville; son, David Diggs and wife, Holly of Greenville; grandchildren, Allan, Brandi, Brady and Dawson; and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Gage and Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Janet Tedford.
Pallbearers will be Amos Lowry, Jerry Bench, Steve Bishop, Craig Driggers, Sean Tredway, Tommy Tedford, Allan Tedford and Donnie Irvin.
