"My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of loss. I recall years of fond memories as a child with all of my brothers living in the house behind Haybood and Marjorie and growing up in Greenville. I remember the kindness bestowed upon me and my family by Hagood, his wife Marjorie and his sisters. We will all miss you and thanks for all of the examples of patience, kindness, and thanks for being our neighbor. Love. the Banes brothers."

"We are recalling many fond memories of Hagood on our visits to Greenville and his graciousness in escorting us to restaurants and sights, which our children so enjoyed way back then when they were small. We are honored to have been part of his family. And we are thinking so much of Marjorie and her caring, thoughtfulness, and tender care of Hagood. We are thinking of you now and in the future and send those thoughts to you now."
