Harry Franklin Tyler was born Monday, September 28, 1942 in Hope, Arkansas to John Edgar and Alma Ruth Tyler. As a young boy, Frank always enjoyed being outdoors. He stayed busy helping family, neighbors and friends doing odd jobs. At the age of 11, he received a bicycle for Christmas and used it to deliver papers for the Hope Star. He rode 10 to 15 miles per day to satisfy his customers. Upon Frank’s graduation in 1960 from Hope High School, he worked at a service station to pay tuition to attend the Southern Institute of Graphic Arts in Nashville, Tennessee. For seven years he worked at various newspapers in Mississippi, building on his career in the newspaper industry. In 1967, he went to Texas and began his career at the Dallas Morning News. Frank started as a machinist, and was promoted to night assistant foreman in 1971. In that same year, he began teaching vocational printing at Irving MacArthur High School. By 1978 he became assistant production manager; in 1984 he became the production manager and later vice president of production. He retired from the Dallas Morning News in 1999. In 2000 he accepted a job offer for TKS, USA, as the president and CEO.

Frank always was a hard worker. He was a jack of all trades and could do anything he set his mind to. He lived his life by the Bible verse that he believed in, “you will earn your bread by the sweat of your brow”. He was dedicated to his wife of 35 years and his family. He was honest, trustworthy and was a good man. In 2007 he was diagnosed with IPF. In 2009 he received new lungs, which allowed him to spend more time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Tyler, son, Terry Tyler of Lawrence Mississippi, daughter, Tina Tyler of Foley, Alabama, daughter, Janice Fronterhouse of Celeste, Texas, son, Jason Carter of Cooper, Texas, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Frank has influenced and touched so many lives, he will be greatly missed by so many.
