Tula MaeDouglas

Tula Mae Douglas, Age 91, of  Prairie Valley Community, Campbell, passed away on

Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at her residence.  Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Prairie Valley Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Witt officiating.  Burial will follow at Prairie Valley Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Born on April 29, 1916 in Prairie Valley Community, she was the daughter of Bob Dooley and Carrie Mackey Dooley.  On November 25, 1937, she married Onnie D. Douglas of  Campbell, Texas.  She was a homemaker and was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church all of her life where she served as the Adult Ladies Sunday School Teacher for many years.  She was very dedicated to her church and community. 

Her survivors include her son Rudy D. Douglas and his wife, Janiece of Campbell; grandchildren Clint Douglas and wife, Tanya of Houston, Nathan Douglas and wife, Rebecca of Dallas, and Kalee Foster of Campbell; brother, Ben Dooley and wife, Mary Lee of Lone Oak; sisters Betty Davies of Lone Oak and Bobbie Harris and husband, L. D. of Campbell; sister-in-law Margaret “Pargie” Dooley of Lone Oak; sister-in-law Corrine Dooley of Quinlan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on December 10, 2003; and two brothers Martin & R. T. Dooley.

Pallbearers will be Mark Davies, Gary Dooley, Terry Dooley, Bart Sherer, Chance Sherer, and Curtis Sherer.
