Richard H. Hester, 87, of Greenville passed away January 31, 2016 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Ron Williams officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born November 15, 1928 in Pittsburg, Texas, Richard was the son of William Oscar Hester and Maggie (Steed) Hester. On June 3, 1960, he married Barbara Jean Church in Aiken, South Carolina. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired field service engineer from Raytheon.
His survivors include his wife, Barbara of Greenville; daughters Janet Smith of Richardson and Lana Henderson of Plano; grandchildren Crissy, Misty, Lexa, Taryn, Jesse and Evan; and great-grandchildren Brooke, Shellie, Brittany, Shai, Cameron and Zachariah.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, son Ricky Hester, six brothers and three sisters.
