Lola Beatrice Bird, 108, of Greenville, passed away on April 5, 2016 at Legend Healthcare. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Lola was born on September 20, 1907 in Yantis, Texas to C. A. and Ada Mae Lewers Hurley. She married Orlie M. Bird on March 15, 1925 in Yantis. Lola was a homemaker and a member of Park St. Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
Lola is survived by her daughters, Ruth Pearce of Greenville, Anna Whitfield of Grand Prairie; brother, Orville Hurley of Yantis; grandchildren, Peggy Hobbs, Bill Pearce, Tom Whitfield, Pamela Roberts; 5 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Era Jo Graves Roper, and granddaughter, Melodie Graves.
