Glenda Currin
Glenda Nell (Fox) Currin was born on February 17, 1944 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2016. Glenda was born in Wolfe City, Texas and enjoyed a childhood filled with joy on a small farm. She graduated from Celeste High School in 1962. She met her husband, Doyle Currin, through mutual friends and it didn’t take long for these two to realize they were meant to spend their lives together. They were married on May 13, 1972. On July 20, 1973 they welcomed their son, Darren Currin, into their home and they could not have been prouder of him.
Glenda spent her time as a devoted wife, mother, granny, mother-in-law, friend and most importantly follower of Christ. She was actively involved in her church, Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene. She also led Bible Studies at her church as well as within the Community Bible Study program, here in Greenville. She could cook, sew, knit and crochet and she enjoyed passing on these passions to her granddaughter and anyone who was interested in learning.
Glenda was preceded in death by her baby sister, Judy, her parents William and Birdie Fox, sister, Ferlene Dillon, and her precious son, Darren Currin. She is survived by her devoted, loving husband, Doyle Currin of Greenville, TX; her beautiful granddaughter, Kaitlyn Currin of Yukon, OK; daughter-in-law, Amy Currin of Yukon, OK; brother, Randy Fox of Cedar Rapids, IA and numerous cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral home on Thursday, December 15th with family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral will be Friday, December 16th at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Coker-Mathews with Pastor Ronnie Hight officiating. Interment will follow at Gober Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Robinson, Cecil Nelson, John Hanson, Lloyd Shelton, Jerry Taylor, Tim Stainback, and Allen Knutson.
Glenda will be missed immensely by all that loved her. We rejoice in knowing that she is celebrating in Heaven with her son and all those that have gone before her and is truly receiving her reward for a life well lived.
