Dorothy Strawn, 94, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Legend Healthcare. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Memoryland Memorial Park with Bro. J.V. Scott officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Celeste, Texas on January 12, 1922 to Robert Lester and Lorena Moore Compton. On November 14, 1945 she married Weldon Eugene Strawn in Greenville. She was a graduate of Celeste High School where she played basketball and attended Greenville Business College for 2 years. She retired as a secretary for 3M and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Larry Strawn and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Stacy Strawn and wife, Heather, Christopher Strawn and wife, Breanna; great-grandchildren, Landon Strawn, Cody Strawn, Trysten Strawn, Dakotah Strawn and Brooklenn Strawn.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Strawn, Cody Strawn, Landon Strawn, Larry Strawn, Stacy Strawn and Trysten Strawn.
