Celesta Mae Garrett, 90, of Greenville, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services will be Friday, June 13, 2008, at 10:00 AM, in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Linden officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Ennis, Texas on April 16, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Annie Brown Harcrow. On August 8, 1935, she married Walter Garrett, Jr. in Ennis. She was a retired Cafeteria Aide for Greenville Independent School District and was a member of the Living Word Church.
She is survived by a son, Don Garrett and his wife, Barbara of Greenville; a daughter, Nancy Guthrie and her husband Robert of Greenville; a sister, Orine Rainey of Ennis; grandchildren, Ginger Huffman, Kelly Garrett, Lori Buchanan, Adina Jacobs, Bob Garrett, Charles Garrett, Manya Hernandez and Jeremy East; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and one daughter.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Garrett, Bobby Don Garrett, Chuck Garrett, Jeremy East, Chaz Garrett, and Alex Buchanan.
