Sandra Lee Bigelow Legg was born on September 18, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Clifford and Shirley Wilcox Bigelow. Sandra grew up on Mockingbird Hill in Paw Paw Michigan. On August 22, 1964, Sandra married Albert Geordie Legg in Paw Paw. The couple started their family and moved to a farm that they named "Grindstone Acres" in Coldwater, Michigan in 1973. Sandra, Albert and their two daughters, Teresa and Bonnie, raised Arabian horses on Grindstone Acres. In 1981 Sandra and her family moved to Texas, eventually settling on a small piece of land in Cash, outside of Greenville, Texas. During this time, Sandra worked in retail and was manager of the Cato clothing store in Greenville.

Sandra spent over 20 years working as an Activity Director in retirement homes. She spent eight years as the head activity director at the Rockwall Nursing Center in Rockwall, Texas. At the time of her passing, Sandra worked as an activity director at Brentwood Terrace in Paris. Sandra was passionate about her job-- working hard to enhance the lives of the elderly residents in her care. Sandra also respected and cared deeply for the staff at Brentwood Terrace. They were her work family and were an important part of Sandra's life.

Sandra had many friends-- she never met a stranger. Special friends include Mr. Ron Reed, Ursala Ross and Mary Merritt. Sandra was especially close to her sister, Lois Nicoll. Sandra lived for her grandchildren, attending most every sporting event, play, school program and graduation. Sandra was her family's biggest cheer leader and supporter.

Sandra passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 while working at the Brentwood Terrace in Paris, Texas. She died doing a job that she loved, amongst people that she cared about.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Delcambre and husband, Jesse, of Commerce. Grandchildren, Keaton Smith, Kevin Smith, Alaura Delcambre and Ethan Delcambre.
