Our sweet momma was born on February 10, 1924 in Chautauqua County Kansas to William Crawford Brock and Annetta Effie House Brock. As the seventh child, she was the baby of the family. She came from a strong Christian family that was true prayer warrior and had strong faith in the Lord. Georgie continued to serve our Lord as a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Greenville. She was a faithful and dedicated servant of Christ.
Along with her sister Gertrude, momma left Lamesa, Texas where she was raised, and moved to Greenville, Texas. She was tired of time spent in the dusty cotton fields and always felt so very blessed to have found her place a Lovenit. It was a fabric manufacture and they could both live and work on site. No more cottonfields! Both momma and her sister cherished their memories there.
While living and working in Greenville she met the love of her life, Charley Wright. They were married on September 16, 1946. Georgie and Charley spent many years living in both Hunt County and Dallas County. Georgie’s main priority in life to was be a good wife and mother.
Momma enjoyed time with her family. She was always ready for a day out shopping, a lunch date or even a late-night trip for ice cream. Although she was always ready to go, nothing made her happier than sharing a home cooked meal with them. She always enjoyed breakfast a Cracker Barrel but nothing compared to her love for homemade meals. She enjoyed cooking and could be found reading cookbooks as if they were a novel. She could put together a feast with whatever she had in the pantry and her southern cooking skills meant it would always be good. Her happiest times were when family was gathered for Sunday supper.
In addition to cooking she enjoyed real estate. Georgia had excellent business sense and at one time or another, every one of us has come to her for business advice- many, many times throughout of lives we have sought her wisdom and we all valued her advice. She enjoyed buying and selling properties and spent countless days at the library reading books about business.
Momma was funny. She was witty and could make a joke out of just about any matter. She always made us laugh and warmed our hearts with her charm. She was a sweetheart. She loved everyone and all those who knew her loved her more.
More importantly than anything, she was a strong Christian. She was a prayer warrior. She was raised to pray and pray with purpose. Momma instilled in every member of our family the same value. She was faithful, dedicated and loved the Lord. She would often sing hymns and thank the Lord for all her blessings. She taught us to always trust God and that nothing, nothing was too big for Him.
Georgie is survived by her daughter, Glenna Cogburn and husband Dewayne of Rockwall, son, Larry Wright and Nancy Burns of Greenville, granddaughters Lisa Brooks and husband Craig of Rockwall, Renée Holland and husband John of Rockwall and Christy Clements and husband Chris of Royse City and great-grandchildren, Austin and Anna Lisa Brooks, Natalie, Cade and Casey Holland and Ally and Kaitlyn Clements.
Pallbearers will be Craig Brooks, John Holland, Chris Clements, Austin Brooks, Doyle Wright and Brian Wright.
