"I have many fond memories of Vernice. She was loved by all who knew her and she loved everyone. She was a kind hearted, loving and a sweet and hard working person. She loved her family and her sisters. She took care of so many, especially her sister Louise. She treated us all as if we were her own grandchildren and loved us just as much. After Louise's (my Nanas) passing she became the closest thing I had to a grandmother, I will miss our talks, I will miss her kindness and I will miss her laugh. I will find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with Alvis, whom she loved so dearly and her mother and sisters and all those gone before her. They are all together again. Even though she has left us for the time being - we will always hold her in that special place in our hearts until we see her again."
