Jack Holmes
Harold Buford “Jack” Holmes, 89, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Medical City of Plano. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews with Mr. Brady Cook and Mr. Danny Myrick Officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jack was born on June 26, 1928 in Pattonville, Texas to Chester and Lula McDonald Holmes. He was employed by Esco Mfg. and Lance. Mr. Holmes also owned and operated Holmes Pest Control for over 25 years. He was also a member of Hillside Church of Christ.
Jack is survived by his wife Ava Helen Holmes of 66 years; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Randy Meeks; grandchildren, Paige Jones and husband, Nick, Justin Meeks and wife, Karla, Sarah Hammack and husband, Mitch; 12 great-grandchildren and niece, Nancy Holmes Dickey.
He is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Darold Shuford “Pete” Holmes.
Pallbearers will be Cody Crumpton, Sammy Duncan, Wayne Gilmore, Mitch Hammack, Nick Jones, Justin Meeks, Clint Stuart and Joe Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Shell Gunnels and Paul Wood.
