Wanda was born on December 23, 1931 in Lone Oak, Texas, to G. W. Wright and Myrtle (Daniel) Wright.  She married Charles Dean on May 26, 1951, in Greenville, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage until his death in 2000.

She was known to most in Greenville as “Aunt Wanda”, and her on-going spirit of generosity has affected so many throughout her life.  Even toward the end of her life she continued to reach out to others and offer help to anyone in need.

A faithful member of First Assembly of God in Greenville, Wanda always had a big heart for missions.  She was known for many fundraisers, including hundreds of cakes she baked raising funds for various projects.

She worked in several Greenville businesses including Hagger Slacks and owned Quilts and Keepsakes in the Texan Theatre and later at Play It Again.  Her family, many friends and the many people she has ministered to over the years will miss her greatly.

Survivors including her daughter Renee Hammack of Greenville; son DaVoy Dean of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren Chris Hammack and wife Michele of Celeste, TX; Jonna Shae Dean, of Philadelphia, PA; Brandon Dean, of Philadelphia, PA; great-grandson Johnny Vitale; a host of nieces and nephews; and one double-cousin, Sugar Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dean; her parents; her sisters, Mary Wright, Essie Back, Johnnie Powell, Daphine McDonald, and Dorothy Ragan; and one brother, G.W. “Sonny” Wright.

Pallbearers will be Steve Jones, Shane Jones, Don Coppinger, Danny Wright, Alton Ragan and Jason Hammack.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joe DeGarso, Bill Abel, Robbie Miller, John Clayton, Joe Goss and John Martin.
