Kenneth Hise
Kenneth Ray “Shorty” Hise, 90 of Greenville, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at his home. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Samuel Glenn and Rev. Rodney Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Quinlan West Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Hise was born in Floyd, Texas on November 24, 1927. He was the son of Cleo Hise and Bertha Rogers Hise. He married Ava Ruth Humphreys on September 3, 1965 in Oklahoma. He retired after 25 years from Raytheon and after 21 years from University Park Independent School District. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church and VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Ava Ruth Hise; sons, Harold Hise and Rickey Hise; daughter, Vickie Hackney; step-son, Lee Jumper; sister, Maureen Stevens-Hilton; grandchildren, Brad Hise, Scott Hise, Ashley McCasland, Missena Clites, Amber Edgington, Matthew Hise, Melissa Duncan, Tayelor Pierce and Kelsey Hise; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, James “Bud” Hise, Helen Morris, Peggy Shanks, Dorothy Brown, Willy Break and Oscar Horn; and former wife, Bessie Wilson Strickland.
Pallbearers will be Barry Choate, Terry Don Stevens, Steven Duncan, David Sasser, Dean Clites, Brad Hise and Juan Nito Guajardo. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Rector, Smith Gilley, Jerry Davis, Burk Bailey and Dewayne Patterson.
