Ricky Don Doan, 62, of Merit, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas due to complications from a stroke. A casual visitation will be held Saturday, October 6th from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Merit Family Center (behind Merit Baptist Church).
Born March 23, 1956, in Greenville, Ricky is the son of E. E. and Nita (Griffin) Doan. He was a truckdriver and was a member of the Methodist church.
His survivors include his mother, Nita; sons Russell and Matt Doan; daughter Brandi Worley and husband Shaun; brothers Jim Doan and wife Shelley, Monty Doan and wife Shelia, and Buck McDonald and wife Vicke; sister Bren Wigington and husband Jackie; grandchildren Cheyann Beard, Paxton Worley, Dylan Doan, Hannah Doan, and Ethan Stailey; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Edsel Doan.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to the Merit Volunteer Fire Department.
