Eva Ruth (Bee) Phillips, Age 91, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Arlington. No services planned. Arrangements made with Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mrs. Phillips was born on December 1, 1916 in Garland, Texas to John Pleas Moss and Eva Taliaferro. On June 16, 1940, she married Cecil Odell Phillips in Garland. During WWII, she worked at Varo Manufacturing in Garland. She graduated from Texas Tech University and taught school. Later, she received her Masters Degree from East Texas State. She and her husband moved from Garland to Hunt County in 1954 where they owned and operated Nutrena Feed Store in Greenville for a number of years and raised cattle. They enjoyed many travels including trips to twenty-eight countries. She served as an area director for the Girl Scouts of America and was very active in her church, Kavanaugh United Methodist Church, where she participated in “Critters”. She was also an avid bridge player.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her husband; brother, Thomas Benjamin Moss; and sister, Johnny Martha Gebauer preceded her in death.
