"Dear Addie, Laura, and Michael,
Don was a dear friend and a great guy!!!! We could politely scream at each other over Region VIII Stuff and technology and data processing and then hug each other, shake hands and nothing would ever be said again about the topic. That is a rare friendship. He loved his family so much.
I just wanted to tell you all that he will be missed by all. Wish I could be there, but have just gotten back from a trip and don't really have the vacation days to take.
He is in heaven now as he was a professed Christian and there won't be any more pain and suffering.

Love to all, Patty Shipp"

"Dear Addie and Family,
I just received information about Don’s death. I am so sorry to hear about it and am saddened for all of you. Don and I worked together for many years and we always enjoyed each other’s company. He always remembered his special education background and would send me information that he thought I would like to know. He was always right in his choices.
My condolences to all of you and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you face the time ahead of you. May good memories help, as he loved you all so much.
Sincerely,
Martha Collins
