James Money, 79, of Mesquite, died Thursday, August 21, 2008, in Doctors Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services will be Monday, August 25, 2008, at 2:00 PM in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Tery Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Money was born in the Tidwell community of Hunt County on October 3, 1928, the son of Joseph Weldon Bailey Money and Hazel Lucille Prather Money. He married Mary Nita Morris on January 19, 1951, in Rockwall, Texas. He was a retired principal with the Dallas Independent School District and a member of the Tidwell Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Nita Money of Mesquite; sons, Kyle Money and wife, Angie of Sunnyvale and Greg Money and wife Laurie of Colleyville; daugher Melanie Tillery and husband, Dale of Forney; grandchildren, Brielle, Brewer and Bretleigh Money, Amanda and Dan Thorntn, Matthew, Madison, Molly, Abigale and Audrey Money, and Derek, Meredith, M'Lynn and Macie Tillery. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Money.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Money, Madison Money, Derek Tillery, Brewer Money, Phillip Money and Dan Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Money and Tim Pendletn.
The family requests memorial be made to the American Lung Association or Prairie Valley Cemetery Association.
