"Papa,
Our lives have flipped upside down since you’ve graduated on to get your wings. As I sit here and think of what to say, a million things come to mind and I could ramble for days. You’ve never met a stranger, 5 minutes in and you had the whole room calling you papa, friend, or dad. You were the absolute HARDEST working man I have ever known. Even at 80 you were talking about getting a job, just couldn’t sit still old man! There will never be enough words to thank you for all you provided me with. I never went without a big papa hug, being told “papa loves you girl”, I never had to search the house for a quarter for the candy machine, you had one sitting on top of the machine waiting on me for when I walked in, I never had to ask for you to come to anything I ever did, you just showed up, and you showed up early even if it meant traveling across the US to be there, you taught me how to bait a hook, which I’m sure my husband is very thankful for, because of you I can never call Walmart anything but Wally-World. You were the true definition of a family man. You gave this 25 year old a lifetime of memories, happiness, and support. My heart breaks knowing that the Holcomb family will continue to grow and they won’t be able to experience life with the most incredible man, but I find comfort in knowing they could walk into anywhere you’ve been and there will be 50 something people there that can talk for hours about how incredible you were. I’m gonna miss the talks on the patio while just watching the sky. Cant wait to see what creations you make out of the sunsets. I miss you so much, until we meet again.

P.S: because I know granny granny is going to be telling you all about it up there....
I almost wrecked the cobra, I did use the tingling tanning lotion in y’all’s tanning bed the day my skin burned with blisters even though you told me not to, anytime the last little Debbie’s snack was gone but the packaging was still there, I ate it, and I use to play cops and robbers with your police badge, flashlight and hand cuffs which is why you always had to put it back in the correct spot... feels good to get that off my chest!
