"Mary Margaret, my precious Aunt, who mothered me just like one of her own children. A great inspiration in my life. You helped my mom out in the hardest times when I was a child. You inspired me to go to college even buying me the suitcases and said, No argument, go pack, you are going to college. You taught me to trust in God, and face challenges with grace as one ages. You and I shared the love of clothes and the color green. I am thankful for an Aunt and a family that you helped mentor and love. You are an example of what family means with respect, discipline, good example and guidance. Every family would be a better family if it had a Mary Margaret in it. I was 12 years old when you and my mom drove to Miami to get on the SS Bahama Star and sail to Nassau on the first vacation I remember. You were fearless, showing me another example (besides my mom) of what a woman could and should be. You were a loving big sister to my mom and grew the family relationships because of your love and kindness. I will miss your enduring spirit and try and carry on the love that was first shown to me by my mom and reinforced by you. It is always nice to have a second set of eyes, and you were that 2nd set of eyes that reinforced good decisions in all your nieces and nephews. My favorite events as a kid was to come to your house for Christmas or go shopping at Neiman Marcus Fortnight Downtown Dallas with you, your girls Sherry and Janice and my mom. You like to have fun, work, travel and enjoy each other. You taught me how to balance heartbreak and appreciate the good times. I am forever grateful. I love you Auntie M & M."
