Christine Griffin Carrington, 98, of Celeste passed away on February 27, 2021 at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas with Bro. Richard Tankersley officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 2-4 PM at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Christine was born on December 18, 1922 to Joseph Cooley and Florence Osenbaugh Cooley in Sheridan, Iowa. Christine married Gregory K. Griffin on January 30, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. Christine was a PTA member, officer of 9 Girls Club, member of the Celeste Thursday Club and member of the Celeste Coffee Club. Christine was a member of Celeste United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Christine is survived by son Bruce Griffin of Georgetown, Texas, son Joe Griffin and wife Suzanne of Longview, Texas, son Guy Griffin and wife Susie of Southlake, Texas, daughter Sondra LaFavers and husband David of Celeste, Texas, grandchildren Kelly Griffin and wife Jeri, Juliet Griffin, Heather Thomas and husband John, Bethany Myer and husband Mike, Megan Tindel and husband Caleb, Tyler LaFavers and wife Maddellyn and Shannon Griffin, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Christine is preceded in death by her first husband Gregory K. Griffin, second husband Murray Carrington and her parents.
