G R Holt, 65 of Greenville, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 1 P.M. at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Father Gary Herbst will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
He was born in Farmersville, Texas on October 30, 1943 to Dewitt Holt and Coy Virginia Culverhouse. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a self-employed brick and stone mason. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
His survivors include his daughter, Angela Wilson and husband, Ira of Garland, brother Bobby Holt of Taos, New Mexico, sisters, Nora Sullivan of Lake Tawakoni and Floy Polkladnik of Dallas, three grandchildren Lauryn Shields and Tyler and Chase Wilson of Garland, special friend Linda Casstevens and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lavertie Ivey and Dean Nowlin.
Pallbearers will be Devin Holt, Rick Nowlin, Alan Petrea, Jaime Guerrero, Jason Casstevens and Michael Deegear.
Honorary Pallbeareres will be Ralph Parks and Arby Parks.
Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the funeral home.
