Dorothy Tinney, Age 81 of Wagner, formerly of Notrees, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg with interment following at the Fredericksburg City Cemetery. Fredericksburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist at a later date.
Mrs. Tinney was born on November 7, 1927 in Fredericksburg to Rubin Bernhard and Lydia Knoche Bernhard. On February 16, 1949, she married William “Stub” Tinney, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Her survivors include her loving partner of 25 years, Elmer Biddy of Wagner; son Jon Tinney and wife, Denise Prado of Sarasota, Florida; daughters Cynthia Lane and husband, Thomas “Loose” Lane of Wagner and Jan Tinney of Dallas; brothers Rubin Bernhard of San Antonio; sister Shirley Schaefer of San Antonio; and two grandchildren Nick Lane and MaryRuth Lane.
She was also preceded in death by a sister Anabel Wuest in 2008.
