Colleen Thomas, 81, of Caddo Mills, passed away on July 3, 2022 at the Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall. A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral with Pastor Butch Bruton officiating. Burial will follow at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Colleen was born June 11, 1941 in Greenville, Texas to Collin Bradford and Edith Mae Hagler Bruton. She married Kenneth Ray Thomas on August 14, 1959 in Caddo Mills, Texas. She worked for the State National Bank in Caddo Mills as The Cashier until her retirement in 1995. She then worked as the secretary /treasurer for New Life Church @ Covenant Ranch until retiring again in 2016, where she was a member.
Colleen is survived by her children, son Kevin Thomas and wife Cindy of Raleigh NC, daughter Kay Tapp and husband Rick of Johnstown CO, daughter Kathy Summers and husband Vic of Mt. Vernon TX.
Her brother Butch Bruton and wife, Darlene; grandchildren, Victoria Cloeren and husband, Stefan, Caroline Grzonka and husband Mark, Thomas Tapp, Jonathan Tapp, Kelly Thomas, Drew Thomas; great-grandchildren, Landry Cloeren, Cameron Cloeren, Hudson Grzonka; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Kenneth Bradford Bruton and brother, Joe Carl Bruton.
Pallbearers will be Monty Bruton, Paden Bruton, Stefan Cloeren, Chad Crow, Dalton Crow, Mark Grzonka, Justin Johnson, Chris Reynolds and Drew Thomas.
