 Rheba Loretta Slaughter, 84, of Caddo Mills died Dec. 22, 2008, in Briarcliff Nursing Home in Greenville..Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tate Chapel, Buffalo Valley, Okla. Burial will be in Laura Cemetery in Buffalo Valley, Okla. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.She was born June 16, 1924, in Tuscahoma, Okla., to Charles Brinkley and Florence Goodsby. She married Lewis W. Slaughter on Aug. 20, 1958, in Rockwall. She was a teacher and secretary for the Poetry Water Corp. for numerous years. Mrs. Slaughter was a member of the Christian faith.Survivors include sons, Charles James and Georgia Slaughter of Caddo Mills and Lewis Wayne Slaughter of Tyler; daughter Peggy and Don White of Hampton, Ark.; sisters Margaret Gilmore, Geneva Little and Sonny Brinkley, all of Oklahoma.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis, and two brothers, Charles and Paul Brinkley.
