Richard Dwaine Munson, age 84, of Caddo Mills, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, January 22, 2023. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas
Richard was born June 19, 1938, to Odessa and Paul Munson in Wichita, Kansas. His parents divorced when he was young and both remarried. Earl Naylor and Mable Munson were never step-parents, they were just extra parents. Richard married his wife Sally on June 14, 1963, and again on September 3, 1994. Together, they had three children: Michelle, Bradley, and Katherine.
Richard was very much a family man and cherished every moment spent with them. He was a quiet, gentle man who taught us to be deliberate in our actions, to keep busy, and most of all to enjoy dessert! He could deliver a prayer on a moment's notice, whether it was to bless the food or to comfort a friend. We will all miss his silliness that entertained us and his occasional grumpiness that was so out of character; he was always good for a laugh.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle, his parents Earl and Odessa Naylor and Paul and Mable Munson, his sister Darlene Lewis, and his brother Monty Naylor.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Sally, his son Bradley and his daughters Kristina (Doug) and Desiree; his daughter Katherine Harvell (Randy) and their sons Reece (Jacy), Pierce (Chrissy), Brandon; his grandsons Nicholas (Tina) and Dustin (Ashley); as well as eight great-grandchildren. There are countless other “children” who became part of Richard’s and Sally’s extended family over the years either while working for them at Sally’s Especially For You in Greenville or attending church with them at Vansickle Baptist Church that will grieve with us also.
