Sharon Sue Briscoe, 59, of Greenville, Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Hunt Regional Medicall Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Ron Salfen officiating. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday in Hess Cemetery near Elmer, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Briscoe was born August 1, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Hartwell and Ruth Ann Daughtery Hartwell. She married Larry Briscoe on January 3, 1969, in Memphis, Texas. She worked in journalism and was a typesetter in the newspaper and printing business. She was instrumental in the early developement of The Quinlan-Tawakoni News.
She is survived by her husband Larry Briscoe of West Tawakoni; daughter, Stacie Poland of Royse City; sister, Belinda Barton of Spokane, Washington, Jami Pierson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Barbara Woodruff of Arlington; grandson, Preston Poland of Royse City and granddaughter Emily Poland of Royse City. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2009, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
